Despite this, Johnson’s skill and reliability have kept him in the league, making him a valuable asset for the Ravens. His journey through the NFL speaks to his adaptability and consistent performance under pressure.

In the 2023 season, Campbell had a standout year with the Atlanta Falcons, starting all 17 games and recording 6.5 sacks, 56 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 42 quarterback pressures. His performance demonstrated that he remains a formidable force, capable of disrupting opposing offenses.
The Decision to Continue
At this stage of his career, Campbell seriously considered retirement. However, his enduring love for football and a pivotal conversation with his family influenced his decision to return for another season. Acknowledging the evolution in his game due to age, Campbell emphasizes the importance of incorporating strength and finesse into his play. His motivation is driven by passion, stating, "But what keeps me going though is a love for the game."
A New Opportunity with the Dolphins
Campbell joined the Miami Dolphins with a clear goal in mind: to chase a Super Bowl ring. The Dolphins' roster, comprising six Pro Bowl players, offers a promising opportunity for Campbell. The addition of new players has further bolstered the team's strength, providing Campbell with renewed vigor and ambition.
Highlighting the significance of team chemistry, Campbell notes, "I feel like there's a really good opportunity here. A very talented team all over the field, both offense and defense."
Reuniting with Anthony Weaver
A significant factor in Campbell's decision to join the Dolphins was the opportunity to reunite with coach Anthony Weaver. Weaver, who served as Campbell’s position coach for two seasons, has a deep understanding of Campbell's capabilities. Campbell’s belief in Weaver as a coach played a crucial role in his decision-making process, as he explains, "The main reason I wanted to come here was because I really believe in who Anthony Weaver is as a coach and our relationship."
Weaver’s familiarity with Campbell’s mindset and playing style enhances their synergy, providing an advantageous situation for both the player and the team. Campbell emphasizes the trust and understanding he shares with Weaver, "He knows what I'm capable of doing. He understands my mind and how I see the game, and he trusts it."
The Pursuit of the Vince Lombardi Trophy
Despite his extensive career and numerous accolades, Campbell has yet to secure a Super Bowl title. His quest for the Vince Lombardi Trophy remains a driving force, reiterating his commitment to achieving this elusive goal. Campbell previously played in Super Bowl XLIII with the Arizona Cardinals but fell short of victory. Now, with the Miami Dolphins, he is determined to seize this opportunity.
Reflecting on his decision not to retire, Campbell articulates, "I thought about [retiring]." He attributes his continued passion to a conversation with his family, as well as his unwavering love for the game. "It really came down to just with the family, talking to the wife and kids. Because physically, and the desire and love for the game, has never left, not even a little bit," he explains.
At the core of his decision to keep playing is a blend of experience, strength, and finesse. As Campbell himself puts it, "I have to learn how to use other parts of my game, bring a lot more of the strength part but I still have enough finesse and everything else, I got a full box of little tools."
With the Dolphins' promising roster and the guidance of coach Anthony Weaver, Campbell's pursuit of a Super Bowl ring remains a formidable endeavor, driven by a deep-seated love for football and a career marked by relentless determination.
